Overview of Stormwater Management in King County   Summary

Seattle Regulations, Reports and Resources

Seattle has two NPDES permits – one for stormwater management and one for Combined Sewer discharges.  In October 2011, Seattle Public Utilities requested public comment on the scope of the Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement which will affect the Long-Term Combined Sewer Overflow Control Plan and the CSO options that will be selected in Ballard.  We provided comments.

King County Regulations, Reports and Resources

King County has permits for its wastewater treatment facilities and for stormwater management. King County. In Fall 2011, King County Wastewater Treatment Division requested public comment on their recommended combined sewer overflow plan.  We provided comments.

State Municipal Stormwater Requirements and Resources

The Washington Department of Ecology issues municipal stormwater permits as well as other permits for point-source activities.  They recently invited public comment on proposed changes to the general municipal stormwater permits as well as changes to the stormwater management manual that underpins the permit requirements. We provided comments.
